The leading French furniture manufacturer, Schmidt, has developed a second brand, Cuisinella, which specializes in quality, custom-made kitchens. These kitchens are assembled in France for each client.

To fit into Cuisinella's current omnichannel experience, users discover the brand online and finalize their project in store with a specialist. Hapticmedia's UX teams proposed an innovative tool driven by artificial intelligence to support and simplify this journey.

Styl’IA is an AI kitchen designer that combines interactive 3D configurators and conversational AI to offer a new, innovative user experience in the world of the Cuisinella brand.

What do we do for Cuisinella?

Following the successful project of a product configurator for Spoon & Room, the brand wanted to step up their game. The brand's ambition is to create an innovative idea-generation project using Artificial Intelligence. Cuisinella's customers can interact with this AI, which assists them with their aesthetic choices.

The goal is therefore to guide customers in their choices while taking into account their tastes, constraints, and other requests, all while remaining accessible to everyone, in order to generate a 3D kitchen that meets their expectations.

Just like our project for Provost, the tool was designed in such a way that the user does not have to think about the rules of construction.

The proposals made by the Styl'IA tool are interactive inspirations within the limits of the Cuisinella catalog. They allow the customer to envision themselves thanks to the generation of 3D kitchens and to schedule an in-store appointment to bring their project to life with greater precision.

This tool is therefore a customer experience that combines ideation, 3D, and AI.

What features have been provided for Styl’IA?

Styl'IA: an AI ideation project for kitchens

The customer can choose from different options from the beginning to refine their request (budget, architectural constraints, etc.), but can also provide inspiration from external images. Following this, the AI generates an initial 3D kitchen model, and the customer can zoom in on specific areas to better visualize it. The AI's mission is to make coherent aesthetic suggestions to guide customers in their choices, taking into account their tastes and constraints, while simultaneously adapting the price of the kitchen. The idea is to focus above all on the users' needs.

The tool explains its choices and updates the 3D model throughout the exchange. Styl'IA interacts with users to meet their kitchen aesthetic needs. It makes 3D visual suggestions from the Cuisinella catalog of materials and colors.

At the end of the discussion, Styl'IA suggests saving the configurations, creating a customer account and scheduling an in-store appointment.

AI-generated suggestions are dynamic and visual, furniture materials and colors are displayed in predefined 3D kitchen showrooms. The suggestions can be modified by asking the AI to make changes while preserving certain elements and details can be seen in close-ups in the 3D interface. Dialogue with the AI refines the proposal as the discussion progresses.

Respect for Cuisinella's customer journey and greater accessibility

One of the great strengths of this project is that it doesn't compromise Cuisinella's customer journey. Indeed, the user journey offered by Styl'IA is an additional element of this journey. It provides additional value for users new to the brand. If they are at the launch stage of their project, they can co-design it with Styl'IA before scheduling an appointment with a human sales designer in-store who will create a customized project for them based on these initial discussions. If they are at a less advanced stage, they can start dreaming, gaining inspiration, and projecting themselves, which will inspire them to bring their new project to fruition with Cuisinella.

Regardless of computer skills or digital technology literacy, our AI-driven configurator is much more accessible. Using generative AI for our 3D configurator greatly simplifies its use and allows everyone to easily access this tool.

Styl'IA addresses a major issue when using a 3D configurator. The more options there are, the greater the risk of losing users, so the tool provides a convincing answer to this problem of choice by guiding the user through their project, making personalized suggestions, and reassuring them.

This prevents the user from becoming uncertain when faced with too many options. AI allows us to target the need and provide a single, effective, and consistent solution.

Beyond the simple project, an international group, the client, and a tech startup submitting project proposals. It was truly a collaborative effort of joint expertise that enabled the development of this project to meet the needs of the brand and its users.
