The Jewelry House Van Cleef & Arpels is a French brand founded in 1906. Today, Van Cleef & Arpels markets timepieces, high jewellery, jewellery and perfumes. With creations inspired by nature, the company has been able to differentiate itself and reserve a place of choice in the world of high jewellery.

Mission

Van Cleef & Arpels entrusted us with the creation of a 3D configurator for their “ Your Poetic Setting” collection of 6 engagement rings. The aim was to highlight the customisation possibilities of these rings, their differentiating elements and particularities.

Features

The functionalities we set, have all the goal to highlight the 6 rings of the collection and to allow the customer to choose among more than 13 different carats and several colors of rings and stones.

The first step of this project is for us to optimize the CAD models sent. We have to reduce their size and adapt them to web format and to our visualization tool. Thus, we optimize the mesh of the 3D models to maximize the rendering quality during product visualization.

Then, we model the rings on our technology. The goal being to transcribe with precision : - Their shape and aspect - Their specificity and details (claws, the settings, the finish, …) - And we realize the rendering of their different shaders in 3D visualization.

The brand gives its customers the possibility of including a message to be engraved on the engagement ring. The 3D configurator allows the customer to visualise in real time the rendering of this personalised message, engraved on the inside of the ring. It must therefore provide for different engraving locations on the ring as well as different fonts and text sizes. The configurator also automatically adjusts the viewpoint of the ring to better see the engraving. So when the customer simulates the engraving of a personalised message, the view of the ring is automatically brought closer, so that he can see the result in a more detail view

The configurator allows the personalization of rings with real-time visualization of the rendering. Visitors to the site can choose from among 13 carat sizes and several colors for their jewelry, as well as a personalized message to be engraved.
